Finished painting Big Guns backbox stripes. Three coats of semi gloss to go, then I will repopulate it. Also completed the remaining board/wiring repairs for everything that goes inside this. I should have it back on top of the cabinet and the machine powered up by Sunday!
I also spent some more time evaluating the playfield and playfield mechs. This thing is dirtier and jankier than I remember. One problem with doing a project that lasts a year and starting out as a relative newbie is that i missed a lot of work that i will now have to do. There is no way i’m going to get this done by October, but i’ve made such outstanding progress in the last few months, it’s hardly something to feel bad about.
Because everything needs to be cleaned (at the very least) and many things need to be repaired on the playfield, i’m considering stripping it down completely both top/bottom. I’ve gone so far with this machine, there’s no point in half-assing the part that matters the most!
