Cabinet stencil disaster

Turns out I was right to feel uneasy about my work last night. The adhesive stencil took up huge chunks of the paint job. It’s a complete disaster. When i saw how awful it was, I just got a paint scraper and started going at it to pull up all of the small vinyl stencil spots. That’s where the extra mutilation of the paint comes from.

I can’t fully describe how tragic and frustrating this is. I’ve been refinishing the cabinet following all the best practices I could find for doing it with rattle cans, and I’ve been at it for about 3 months. I have a huge number of hours into it, and a fair amount of money in paint and stencils, etc.

Ultimately, I think the cabinet is irredeemable. I would have to start over on rehabbing but I don’t have the will or time or money, and I worry that it would turn out the exact same way due to the condition of the cabinet.

So I’m going to get creative and try and finish this in some way that isn’t completely horrid. I don’t have the money to buy a new cabinet. I could nearly buy a fully working Big Guns for the cost of a new cabinet, paint, and another round of stencils.
