Today some great pinball things happened.
My oldest came out and worked on Big Guns with me for almost three hours. He enjoys soldering and has done a number of small electronics projects on his own, but this was the first time he’s worked with me on pinball. It was a blast. He is much better at soldering than I am so I set up tasks for him and he knocked them out whole we listened to his music. Some things we cooperated on and it went a lot faster that way. For me, it was one of the best times this whole year.
We did all of this:
- Replaced right eject hole and right cannon microswitches (this is not a fast job)
- Replaced left eject coil (which fixed one of my blowing fuses, yay!)
- Replaced left playfield flasher socket
- Fixed a lamp socket
- Replaced Q77 and Q76 transistors on the main board
- Replaced D20 diode on the auxiliary power board.
To top off the day, I rolled over Surf Champ. Not my best game but I really enjoyed it.
