Pinball made this possible

I haven’t been doing much of any pinball maintenance lately. Work and family schedules have been intense, so I’ve been keeping things simple in the evenings.

Recently I bought J a hobby grade RC car and he’s been having fun with it. Unfortunately some parts broke but we bought a couple of upgrades to make it more bulletproof. Today we took most of the car apart and replaced the drive train. It wasn’t super hard or anything, but it was time consuming and required attention to detail.

Before doing pinball, I don’t think I would have approached this project with any sort of confidence. But since I’ve completely disassembled and repaired multiple pins, I knew this was going to be no problem. First we took photos of everything, then started unscrewing things and taking more photos and bagging parts up. It was fun.

Point is, pinball repair and restoration has given me more than just nice machines to play, it’s given me confidence and a system for attacking complex problems that I’ve carried into my work and other parts of life.

THANKS PINBALL!
