I’m trying to finish touching up the Space Mission playfield so I can level the inserts and clear the playfield. I’ve been doing little bits here and there. Tonight I had the hair dryer out to help dry the polycrylic for Big Guns so I decided it was time to finally remove the mylar circles around the pop bumpers.
With the overall plankiness of the playfield I thought it better not to try remove them with the freeze method like I used with Big Guns. Instead I heated them up with the hair dryer and gently pulled them up. As you can see, quite a bit of paint came up to but I can honestly say it’s better than I thought it would be. Next I’ll need to finish removing the mylar adhesive and repaint this area. It’s mostly just blue and black so it should be pretty damn easy.
