When I went out last night to show Allison the machine, it no longer started a game and when I got one started, as soon as a 10s score happened the match unit coil would lock on. Found the 10s relay and adjusted the leaf switches. Unfortunately one is very oddly bent from some prior fat finger adjustment. Anyway, got it adjusted properly and the game started working again according to my last post.
I spent some time inspecting the behavior of the ball count unit, which should be adding 5 balls at game start but isn’t. Also, balls don’t get added for points or the ABCDE lights. I found that if I manually advance the ball count the machine works as designed. The ball count does reset properly but doesn’t advance and I’m pretty sure the solenoid never fires to advance it. So now I have some good information to use in finding the problem area.
The other remaining things to fix (excluding cosmetics) are:
1. When the hundreds advances from 9 to 0, the 1000s doesn’t advance. I need to find out what circuit is responsible for that.
2. There are some wires under the middle of the playfield that a previous owner desoldered and wrapped in electrical tape. I can’t see any obvious place where these should connect. I’m going to ask for photos from pinsiders. As long as I know where they should go it should just be one or two easy solders.
