Sunday night I threw all of the hardware from the top side of Space Mission into the vibrating tumbler. Tonight it was time to pull them out.

The results from this process always amaze me. Many of the posts were black with grime and metal filing dust when I put them in and after two days vibrating with walnut shell medium, everything came out shiny and new(ish) looking.
It’s a bit of a pain to get all the hardware out. I dump it through a colander as a first pass and then fish through the walnut medium with a magnetic tool. Then I take a very fine tweezer and pick the walnut medium out of the heads of all the screws.
After that I run everything through the ultrasonic cleaner with mostly water and a bit of simple green. The ultrasonic helps get all the fine dust off without any elbow grease. Then everything gets dried off and I admire my work. Check the before and after on the flipper bats and posts.
