Avocados

The Grocer’s big avocados were made as two separate paintings, overlapped when pasted. I had this spot picked out on Halsted near 18th but i was afraid the paste-up wouldn’t stick on the weathered wood, so a couple of nights prior to going up with the Avocados I went out with a roller and painted most of the board orange. These rode for a couple of months at this spot, but when they started developing that property, I grabbed the board and used a jigsaw to cut it out and relocated it to Wicker Park. That’s the beginning of a longer story. The small avocado was pasted on the El post at the Blue line Milwaukee and Damen stop.
