Still troubleshooting Big Guns. Getting some good help from Pinside on that but it’s terribly slow going and I feel confused about everything. In the meantime I got some LED strips from Comet that I plan to place under the cannon plastics in Big Guns to help light that area and the upper part of the lower playfield. The photos above were just testing, i will install for real this week. The product is really cool and i plan to use these in other machines.

After soaking most of the taxi metal guides in MEK i was able to scrub off the varnish that was on them. Worst pinball task yet. Still cursing the dum dum that sprayed varnish on the playfield without removing anything first. There are about 5 pieces left to clean that didn’t get soaked the first time around. Even with nitrile gloves and a chem mask it was disgusting—can’t wait to be done with that once and for all! All of this metal still needs to be regrained and polished, though i’m not going full tilt with it given how irrecoverable the playfield is. Clean, shiny, and working is my goal.
