Picked up the freaking amazing looking taxi playfield. It’s just great. Not perfect, certainly not as awesome as a new reproduction playfield would be, but for the money it is ASTOUNDING. That said, i really fucked up. i totally fucked up. i forgot to mark out the location of all the screw holes. This machine has a wide variety of screw holes, and i think it’s going to be a very long process to find them all, and i will undoubtedly screw up the playfield doing it. I’m going to do my best and make good use of the hundreds of photographs i took. The ones i’m most concerned about are the holes for machine screws to go screw into a t-nut. If the wood screws are off a bit it won’t matter that much. Live and learn!
I started rearranging the garage on Monday since 2 machines left. I have some good plans for getting the most out of the space, but it’s going to take a bit of work. The pins are where they need to be, and they have all been nicely leveled. Once i get the other big stuff moved around, the big job will be dismantling about 6 feet of built-in shelving to create a dedicated project pin workspace. I’m going to try do all that before i work on Taxi, it’ll make that job a lot easier.
Also excited to have a painting space so i can start doing that creative work again.
