Taxi posts puzzle, it’s tricky

It’s been mildly stressful finding and drilling holes in this playfield but I’ve got nearly all of the metal parts on now. What I have left is the tricky stuff. I have to figure out where all the long posts and hex posts go and there isn’t any documentation. I failed to get proper photos during teardown. Had I been thinking I would have held up a ruler to each post before removing it.

I managed to find help posts on Pinside to account for the lengths of 2 of them, so there are still seven to sort out. Maybe I just make a best guess and keep them real loose until the ramps are going on – the heights should be easy to sort out at that time.

I’ve hit a wall because I need to wait for a couple of parts before going further. I’ll use this time to clean and polish all of the plastics. I also need to put the speaker panel back together. I was working on a speaker replacement and installing a crossover and a backbox volume but got stuck. I got through creating all the wiring harnesses and realized I was following instructions for wpc era and the wiring to the boards isn’t the same. It’s still totally doable I just have to figure it out through schematics. Anyway… I’ve decided to hook the sound up back to original for now but I’ll leave the wires and everything in place but finish it after the game is playable.

Oh, and I put post lights in for two star posts under each sling. I just love Comet’s matrix system – makes these kind of mods so clean and easy.

What a ramble!
