Our retheme project stalled for a few months as I tried to figure out how to scan this playfield. I tried a few methods with less than stellar results and eventually decided that tracing, then scanning was the best idea. All I really need is a 1:1 digital file that contains the basic playfield layout–inserts, holes, plastics contours, basic shapes. It’s a bit tedious but in about an hour I had it taped up and 1/3 finished. A couple more sittings and it will be 100%, then I can scan it and create a vector reference file for Allison to use as the template for her art.
Once the tracing is done I can put this machine back together and have some fun playing it! At least until we get the art ready for the playfield.
Fun!
