When I saw that a construction company had discarded the plywood that I put these Avocados up on originally, I grabbed the board and used a jigsaw to cut it out. After painting the edges, i took it up to Wicker park and screwed it up on a long wall near Uprise skate shop. In less than 12 hours, a street art enthusiast stole the painting off the wall. I later ended up meeting this guy, who “saved” work from the street. At one point he actually had a gallery show of his stolen works, an action that takes a lot of self-deception and a big nutsack. To my knowledge, it’s hanging above his stairwell in Chicago to this day.
