I love cherries, so it seemed obvious for The Grocer to paste up a sweet cherry. This was painted in two parts (stem, fruit) and pasted on an old window on Milwaukee avenue in Wicker Park. I ended up revisiting this building a few times over the years. “Vegan” was a prolific tagger at that time, and he started tagging near my paintings. We eventually met and became friends, collaborating on a couple of panels along the way.
