Troubleshooting
Spent an hour or so looking through relays and switches in an attempt to fix Surf Champ. Had a moment where I thought I did it, then put the machine back in line and it stopped working. Now I got it going again but I am clearly not finished fixing it.

Big Guns flipper rebuilds
Top flippers rebuilt and installed, upgraded to fliptronics style thanks to Vid’s guide on Pinside. I’ve got the old flipper bats in upside down to keep everything in place for now. Two more flipper rebuilds to go! Unfortunately the next ones have more switches. I wish I was faster with these!

Teardown diagram drawings
I like drawing diagrams. Here are some from my recent teardown. I found that drawing it out is easier than taking photos because it’s always difficult to see what’s going on in photos. This way i number every connection and tape labels on the playfield wires. Much nicer than photos.

A big weekend for Big Guns

Finished painting Big Guns backbox stripes. Three coats of semi gloss to go, then I will repopulate it. Also completed the remaining board/wiring repairs for everything that goes inside this. Cleaned both sides of this board in the backbox, removed all bulbs, cleaned bulb sockets, and gathered all the pieces of the King’s Chamber for reassembly. Block sanding and stripe painting
Block sanded the first coat of clear on Space Mission. It’s pretty nerve racking to sand away at the surface I have so meticulously touched up over the past weeks. I stopped several times to wipe down with naptha to make sure I wasn’t cutting into paint. I think I could have gone down further…
